Clinical Counsellor

Many people turn to therapy in times of pain and uncertainty. But therapy isn’t only for moments of crisis or when relationships are at a breaking point. It can also be incredibly valuable during periods of transition—when you simply need extra support, clarity, or a space to reflect. Taking time for yourself in this way is an investment in emotional intelligence, personal growth, and lasting well-being. I would be honoured to support you as your therapist.

In our work together, you’ll find someone who genuinely cares and is committed to helping you navigate life’s challenges. Through evidence-based approaches grounded in the latest psychological research, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and patterns. Together, we’ll identify opportunities for growth and begin to shift the beliefs and behaviours that may be holding you back from a more joyful, balanced life.

You are the expert on your own experience. My role is to walk alongside you—to collaborate as you strengthen your relationships, build resilience, and discover the best version of yourself. I would love to learn more about where you are in your life right now, and how therapy might support you on your journey.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in a first counselling session?

Your first session is a relaxed conversation. Your counsellor will listen, ask about what’s bringing you in, and together you’ll discuss what you’d like to work toward. There is no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. Everything you share in counselling is confidential, with a few standard legal and ethical exceptions — such as risk of harm to yourself or others — which your counsellor will explain clearly at your first visit.

Do I need a referral to book counselling?

No referral is needed. You can book directly online or by phone.

Is direct billing available for counselling?

Yes. Many extended health plans cover clinical counselling, and we can bill most insurers directly on your behalf — bring your plan details to your visit.

How many sessions will I need?

That is something you and your counsellor will decide together. Some people come for a handful of sessions around a specific challenge; others find longer-term support valuable. Your plan is reviewed with you along the way.

Is counselling only for crisis moments?

Not at all. Counselling can be deeply valuable during periods of transition, stress, or change — or simply when you need extra support, clarity, or a space to reflect and grow.
